Nominate a site you would like to investigate and attend our River Ecology 101 session

Attend our free River Ecology 101 training sessions and get trained to complete a baseline river survey of your site

Training will cover:

  • River ecology—what a healthy river looks like
  • River Issues and how to spot them
  • Species and habitat ID
  • Training to conduct a basic river survey
  • How to select a site and make sure you have safe access
  • Understanding biosecurity around water
  • Further activities or events

Once you’ve signed up you can then decide what else you might like to investigate depending on your time and ability, and could include:

  • River health monitoring and surveys
  • Climate Change monitoring
  • Geology and hydrology
  • National schemes and monitoring days
  • Cultural histories, land mapping and stories
  • Species spotting (inc. Invasive Non-Natives)
  • Task days like removing Invasive Non-Native Species,
  • helping with habitat restoration or River Litter Picks
