It is so important to Love your Ouse! Spend time with your river whether walking, cycling, canoeing, swimming or whatever floats your boat! Regular interaction really helps to form a meaningful connection, develop a greater appreciation of what it offers and hopefully nurtures a willingness for us to want to protect and nurture it.

Report pollution incidents to the Environment Agency on their 24hr pollution hotline:

There are fantastic local organisations who offer a wide range of fun, practical activities and resources. Many rely on voluntary help, membership and donations. Here’s some of the key ones locally:

Ouse and Adur Rivers Trust

Adur and Ouse Catchment Partnership

Railway Land Wildlife Trust

Sussex Flow Initiative

The Aquifer Partnership

Sussex Wildlife Trust

Ouse Valley Climate Action

Campaign, pressure groups and other water do-gooders

We think more can be done to help drive scaled up collective action from a community level and believe in the power of grassroots action rising up to meet those with statutory and regulatory duties, and where necessary, find means to increase transparency and accountability.
